“The biggest goal is to play at a big festival like EDC Las Vegas or Tomorrowland”

Last month NO BOUNDARIEZ made their debut release ‘All Night’ on Oliver Heldens’ imprint Heldeep Records . The Dutch DJ and producer duo is formed by Dani and Davey. On stage, Dani brings the energy behind the decks, while Davey focuses on shaping the beats from the studio and the side of the stage. To dive deeper into their story we caught up with the duo to discuss their journey and the influences shaping their music.

Can you tell us the story behind how NO BOUNDARIEZ came to be? What inspired you both to start creating music under this name, and how has your vision evolved since the beginning?

Dani: We had actually been living quite separate lives for a long time. He was focused on producing, while I was working as a DJ. At some point I started talking to music industry colleagues that I really wanted to form a duo, specifically with someone who was fully dedicated to production. It wasn’t easy to find the right person in the first place. It had to be someone I connected with personally, and who shared the same musical taste.

Then, suddenly, everything moved very quickly. A friend of mine mentioned a mutual friend whom I actually already know since way back. He said he was looking for a DJ, because he wasn’t interested in performing at big festivals. At that time, I was already playing festivals, so it felt like a perfect fit.

Davey came to one of my performances, and joined the afterparty. From there, things just fell into place. We instantly had a great vibe together. In the following week we decided to meet in the studio to work on some records. After that moment we decided to form a duo, which we are now known for.

NO BOUNDARIEZ!

How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard your music before, and what elements do you feel truly define your identity as a duo?

Davey: I would describe our main sound as UK Garage, which is energetic, has good vibes and fast BPM that keeps the pace. I always try to take inspiration out of EDM, Tech House and other genres. Actually it's a little bit of everything, but the main element is UK Garage.

Dani: We have a couple of sounds that we keep on using in our productions. We use vocal chops, a reese bass, crash rhythms and an impact sound. We try to keep it in a theme so our tracks will be recognizable for listeners.

You’ve been DJing frequently in the Amsterdam club scene, which is known worldwide for its diversity and strong electronic culture. How has playing in Amsterdam influenced your sound and development as an artist, and what makes the city’s nightlife so unique from your perspective?

Davey: We started making Tech House, which is a well-established and popular sound in the Amsterdam club scene. Especially the minimal Tech House. We really liked making music in that direction, but at the same time, UK Garage has always been in our lives. From a young age, we used to listen to UK Garage with our brothers and cousins. That connection never faded, and eventually we felt a strong urge to share that sound with a wider audience. About three years ago, we made a clear decision: we wanted to fully commit to UK Garage.

Dani: A moment I can remember is when we heard a track from Shift K3Y. At that time, his sound leaned into UK Garage, and it immediately clicked for us. From there, we began experimenting and adding our own flavor to it. Something that evolved into the sound you hear in most of our productions today.

As we dove deeper into the scene, we became more aware of what was happening around us. Artists like Sammy Virji, MPH, and Notion were already pushing this modern UK Garage sound and playing shows with it. Seeing that made us realize that this wasn’t just a personal passion, it was something the wider dance scene was ready for. That realization gave us even more motivation to keep creating, keep evolving, and keep contributing to this new wave of UK Garage.

Can you walk us through what a typical day in the studio looks like for both of you?. From the moment you start until you wrap everything up.

Davey: Before we start working, we like to get comfortable first and set the right vibe. That usually means good food, some drinks, and just easing into the session. From there, we either start looking for inspiration for new tracks or continue working on projects we’ve already started.

Dani: Most of the time, I’ll share ideas with Davy. For example tracks, vocals, or melodies that I’ve come across and really like. We use those as a starting point for inspiration. Then he’ll take the lead on building a sketch of the track, shaping the initial structure and energy.

Davey: Once we’re both happy with that foundation, we come together to finalize the record. It’s important that we both fully stand behind it. especially because Dani is the one playing our tracks in clubs. So it has to feel just as right for him as it does for me.

Outside of music, what are your passions, hobbies, or small rituals that keep you both grounded and inspired when you step away from the studio?

Davey: Outside of music I like to play video games like FIFA and Call Of Duty, but I also like to watch tutorials about music production. I’m also going to the gym for workouts.

Dani: Besides music I like to go to the movies. Recently I went to the horror movie Scream 7. It was a 4DX set up which was really cool! The only downside was that I had to find out after 30 minutes I got sea sick from the movements from the chair. I decided to go home because I felt really bad, so for me no 4DX movie again haha.

I also like to play Padel with friends from time to time. Football is also something I really like to play, but most of the time that does not fit my schedule. That’s why I keep it to Padel and the Gym most of the time.

When you look ahead in your music career, what is the bigger dream or goal you’re working toward together, and what would it mean to you both personally to achieve it?

Dani: The biggest goal we want to achieve is to play at a big festival like EDC Las Vegas or Tomorrowland, but I’m already really happy with how far we have come so far.. We see that our tracks have been played at festivals and that the pick up from other college DJs is really good, so I’m really happy.

What can fans expect next from NO BOUNDARIEZ in 2026? Are there upcoming releases, performances, or projects you’re particularly excited about?

Davey: We have been a lot in the studio lately and produced plenty of new tracks. Actually we have another release on Heldeep Records this year. If you're excited to follow our journey and new music, you can follow us on our socials.

Dani: You can also visit one of my gigs in Paradiso in Amsterdam. l play there weekly.
